I think this is written from a mother's perspective and she is lecturing her daughter on how she needs to act and what duties she is supposed to fulfill.
It’s cool that you were able to recognize this story from reading it in a previous English class. I like how you wrote down those repeating phrases in your notes, the story was noticeably repetitive as the mother was really trying to get her point across to her daughter. Your notes are short, but I think they really captured the main message of what’s occurring in the story.
